The “1929” all-mahogany models have long been favorites here at Gryphon, partly because Santa Cruz elevates the original Depression-era all mahogany guitar several notches, giving it wood binding, a dark glossy finish, and gold tuners. This version was given yet another bump with a cutaway, and although it’s a dozen years old there’s very little playing wear (a recent refret by SCGC took care of any fret wear).
A handy model for playing in just about any position, and the short string scale is easy on your left hand. Warm mahogany-top tone with great balance.
