Specs

Tim Scheerhorn built his first resonator guitar in 1989 and almost immediately he earned a reputation for making incredible sounding guitars. Tim built this square-neck L-Style guitar in 2004 from lovely figured maple. The body shape is Tim’s own design and is a bit larger than most resonator guitars. (His dated signature is on a label .) It’s in excellent structural condition. The finish is in good shape but there are some deep dents on the back near the waist. There is a jack in the tailblock but there is no pickup.

This guitar has Tim Scheerhorn’s own open-chamber design with six soundposts, an internal sound baffle, and the special handspun Scheerhorn cone. The cast spider bridge is capped with maple bridge inserts and the classic fan coverplate. The neck is made of matching figured maple with mother-of-pearl dot inlays on the ebony fretboard that’s embellished with ivoroid binding. The guitar is stylishly finished with two round soundholes, a traditional tailpiece, and chrome-plated hardware. If you’re seeking something truly special in a resonator guitar, Tim Scheerhorn’s instruments are the ones. Includes a Calton case.
