2014 Stelling Swallowtail 5-String Banjo Used

This Swallowtail Stelling is the first used example Gryphon has had, and it’s in excellent condition. It’s been played so there is some fret wear to the lower frets, and light dings to the back of the neck and some very light scuffs lines to the lacquer on the resonator. We’re making this wear sound worse than it looks, for this is a clean, well-cared-for banjo. “Railroad spikes” have been installed at frets 7-10 under the 5th string so you’re set when using a capo. It has that classic Stelling tone, and the mix of oak and Celtic knot inlay themes on the fingerboard is a nice alternative to the endless hearts & flowers variants. The swallow inlays on the resonator and headstock are very nicely done. Original case is equally clean.
