2023 Collings D1 Traditional Sinker Mahogany Acoustic Guitar – Used

In the hierarchy of mahogany Dreadnoughts, this custom Collings Traditional ranks close to the top, primarily because of the Old Growth spruce top and the sinker mahogany. What this means is that the trees used for the body wood were felled ages ago and only recently salvaged and milled for use.

Collings Traditional Series have a long list of distinct vintage-themed features, including wood purfling, slightly different pearl inlays, more rounded neck shape and fingerboard edges, and a thinner finish. The result of combining the special woods and Traditional Series appointments is a warmer overall tone that still preserves the clarity and balance that have given mahogany Dreadnoughts special status among flat pickers of all kinds.
