We’re big fans of the Modern Deluxe 12-fret models, as they combine the best of Martin’s long history with the company’s latest tweaks taking advantage of modern technology. This 00 shape, with herringbone top border, dates to the 1850s, while the torrefied top treatment (VTS) is barely old enough to vote. Other ultra-modern features include Liquidmetal® bridge pins and a composite carbon fiber bridgeplate that boosts both volume and clarity, plus a new slightly asymmetrical neck shape for maximum hand comfort up and down the fretboard. It all adds up to a highly playable, great sounding and classic Martin guitar.
